William (Huff) Huffman
A Winston-Salem native, Huff began oil painting by taking classes at Forsyth Tech in the late 80’s. He was an oil painting instructor for the “Open Door to Art” program conducted at First Baptist Church on 5th Street. He has received numerous awards in local area art shows including two “Judge’s Choice Awards” at the former Dixie Classic Fair. His artwork in private collections includes commissioned oil paintings, pen ‘n ink drawings and giclée prints.
The detail and accuracy in his artwork are the reflection of 40+ years as a draftsman in a construction related industry. The subjects of a lot of his artwork are vintage items that have been abandoned and structures that will be or have been demolished. His artwork has been described as, “An artist creating images that stir emotions whether experimenting with different techniques of oil painting or doing a pointillist pen and ink rendering.”
